Hi!

This is Mimiyu blogging from Seoul, South Korea.

I am originally from Spain, born and raised in the wonderful Canary Islands. I moved to Barcelona to study in a Business School and ended up in Korea, working for a big multinational.

This is the young me, in Gran Canaria Island

What brought me to Korea? Besides the job itself, I really wanted to live in Asia for a couple years, since my family came from there. Being in Korea has given me the opportunity to grow as a person and as a traveller. In little more than 2 years I have been to Japan (5 times!), Taipei, HK, Thailand, and Vietnam.

I have fallen in Love with Japan. It has some really beautiful cities that one MUST visit!

Do not think that means I don’t spend any time in Korea. I do. Seoul is a big city that can provide so much fun and entertainment! Seoul provides a wide range of restaurants, cafés, palaces, noraebang (singing rooms), parks… If you want to find out about it, keep an eye on my blog, as I will be posting about all of these!

¡Hola!

Soy Mimiyu, escribiendo desde Seúl, en Corea del Sur.

Nací y crecí en Gran Canaria, en las Islas Canarias, y fui a la universidad en Barcelona para estudiar ADE. Tras terminar la carrera y el máster, decidí mudarme a Corea para trabajar bajo una gran multinacional.

¿Por qué Corea? Aparte del trabajo que está muy bien, realmente quería cambiar de aires e irme a vivir a Asia por un tiempo, ya que tengo raíces chinas. Vivir en Corea me ha ayudado a aprender a independizarme completamente, y me ha permitido viajar a varios países de Asia fácilmente. Me he enamorado de Japón, contando 5 visitas en estos 2 años, y también he revisitado Taiwan, el hogar de mis padres, Hong Kong, Tailandia y Vietnam.

Sin embargo, no se crean que eso significa que no me guste Corea. Paso la mayor parte de mi tiempo aquí, y me gusta mucho Seúl porque hay muchísimas cosas que probar, restaurantes y cafés donde comer, y festivales a los que ir. Si quieren conocer más acerca de estos sitios, o de los famosos “bangs” (noraebang – karaoke, jimjjilbang – sauna, multibang – salas de juegos), ¡sigan mi blog y descubranlos conmigo!
