I usually would not write about a place that is about to close… but I think I will make an exception for this time.
If you live in Suwon, specially in the Mangpo-Yeongtong-Changmyeon area and like Mexican food, go to Roccos Taco before July 4th! You still have some time!
Roccos Taco is a very small Mexican restaurant, opened in front of Kyunghee University and right next to the Holly’s Cafe. They serve tacos and burritos mostly, but also have some nachos, and a variation of tacos called taquiqueso (as you can guess, a taco with cheese).
They’re closing because there is not a lot of business, but not because the food or the prices are bad, I think they’re really good! But it is a bit out of the way unless you study at Kyunghee University… But then, it’s just a 10 minutes walk from Yeongtong Station or a short cab ride of 3,000w from Mangpo.
Last night I was there, maybe for the last time, with a group of cool people who decided to meet together and form what will be known as the Suwon Spanish Speakers Club. We had a good time eating, drinking, and chatting. There were people from 11 nationalities including Korean, all blending in together. It was a great time and I hope we repeat soon!
Anyway, here is the menu of Roccos Taco~ remember, if you want to try out what many of us considered the best Mexican in Suwon, hurry up and go before they close! (They’re actually moving to Hongdae, not entirely closing… but for me it means the same…)
